My name is Tinker and I came to the shelter as a stray in July xxxx. I am a 4 year old female Hound / Shepherd mix. You should have seen me when I first came in...it was obvious that I had been neglected. I was so emaciated and just in rough shape all around. So as you can see, I recovered quite nicely! I absolutely looove to be around people! I am very eager to please...I will be your shadow. The shelter people need for me to be adopted in to a certain kind of home...I need a home with no other animals and no young children. Some kids I'm ok with and others I do not like. So the shelter people say that most likely a kid was very mean to me in my past. I am currently in a foster home and I'm doing great! I love being in a home environment. I love to be on the couch, looking out the window! I promise to be a loyal companion. I have so much love to give! Here is what my foster mom wrote about me... Tinker's doing great! She's calm, polite, very well-behaved--such a sweet dog. She takes treats very gently from my hand, allows herself to be petted while eating, waits patiently for her meal or to be let out of her crate in the morning. She's very adaptable and is fine being crated all night or a few hours during the day. She loves being walked, is great on a leash, but she's also happy to run in the fenced-in yard. She'll stand right by the door when she's ready to come inside, but she'll also readily come when I call her to let her in. She's very obedient or just so eager to please. I had several friends, including a 12 yr old girl, come over a few days ago, and Tinker behaved perfectly--no issues, as calm as can be. I think she'd be fine in a home with older kids.
